Che cos’è oggi il Rubicone? Oltre il mito storico del confine varcato da Giulio Cesare, oltre la cartografia, esiste un corso d’acqua vivo, che ogni giorno scorre silenzioso a ridosso delle nostre vite. Il progetto fotografico nasce dalla pratica situazionistica della deriva: attraversare il territorio per lasciarsi guidare dalle suggestioni dei luoghi, sospendendo anche solo temporaneamente abitudini e cammini prestabiliti. Vagando senza una meta definita, l’attenzione si dirige verso ciò che emerge lungo il percorso: la natura selvaggia, la presenza silenziosa degli animali, l’impatto dell’uomo, il mutare profondo delle stagioni. Studenti e studentesse delle superiori hanno abbandonato la quotidianità per immergersi nei sentieri fluviali e affrontato anche le difficoltà pratiche del percorso pur di mettersi in ascolto del territorio. I loro scatti sono il diario visivo di questa ricerca: tracce di un passaggio, sguardi di qualcuno che con questa esperienza ha ridefinito il proprio legame con l’ambiente locale, traendone nuove letture. Le fotografie, gli esperimenti a foro stenopeico, i reperti raccolti lungo il cammino e le impronte fotogeniche delle foglie diventano una testimonianza poetica dell’esplorazione di un tratto di Rubicone, una riflessione silenziosa sul suo stato di salute e sulla necessità di preservarne l’equilibrio precario. L’intento è restituire al fiume la sua natura più autentica: non elemento immobile del passato, bensì paesaggio vivo, flusso di storie e mutamenti in divenire.

Twenty-five years after his death, Marco Pesaresi remains a photographer of the present, and this twenty-fifth anniversary provides an excellent opportunity to revisit his photographs. This exhibition, however, does not stem from a desire to rewrite a story that has already been written, nor from a nostalgic look back at the past. Rather, it arises from the need to revisit the work of a photographer who has left a mark that time has not erased./nRimini Revisited and Portogallo 1989, the early black-and-white works; Underground, Il tempo di un viaggioand Rimini proibita, the major colour narratives: the exhibition comprises five projects that depict different places, journeys, encounters and people, yet share the same ability to engage with others through curiosity, empathy and humanity. The photographs presented here are not intended to provide a comprehensive account of those works. They are representative images, chosen to create a dialogue between different times and places and to convey the evolution of a perspective which, whilst changing, has never ceased to seek an authentic connection with its subject. These are photographs from the past, but images of the present./nThe world depicted by Pesaresi has partially changed, much like the places and their inhabitants. Yet, in his images we find something that speaks to us: desire, solitude, discovery, travel, nightlife, encounters, freedom, and the contradictions of modern life. It is perhaps this that makes Pesaresi’s photographs so contemporary – the way they effortlessly transcend years without remaining trapped in the time they were taken./nSI FEST, which has shared a significant part of its history with Marco Pesaresi, thus returns to engage with his work not merely to commemorate him, but to reaffirm his presence once again. His photographs do not ask to be remembered. They ask to be looked at once more.
